Introduction



Ghazal Partou is an award-winning Iranian-Canadian actress, filmmaker, and multidisciplinary artist based in Toronto. She holds a B.A. in Sculpture, studied acting in Iran, and continued her film education at Toronto Film School.

With more than two decades of experience across film, theatre, performance, and visual art, Ghazal brings emotional depth, authenticity, and a strong visual sensibility to her work. Her acting has earned international recognition, including the Special Mention Lead Actress Award at the Five Continents International Film Festival and Best Actress at the New World Film Festival.

Ghazal is also the writer, director, producer, and lead actress of the award-winning short film Amphibious, which has received multiple international festival selections and awards. Fluent in Persian and English, she is particularly drawn to layered, character-driven stories that explore identity, memory, displacement, and the complexities of human relationships.
